How Our Competition Teams Went

In 2016 Wahroonga FC fielded a total of 31 junior mixed teams, 3 girls’ teams and 3 girls’ teams jointly run with West Pymble FC and 4 senior squads and 2 teams – for a total of just over 600 registered players.

Time flies really fast and I can’t believe it is already the end of the season. The players of Wahroonga FC U7 Yellow Team had a wonderful season together. For many of them, it is their first year of playing soccer and they learned so much from it.

U8 Lions - Gala day Winners

What a fantastic achievement for the U8 Lions on Gala Day.  An amazing corner in the last couple of minutes evened the match, and was then followed by a beautiful goal.  Congratulations on your win – it was well deserved. Katie Lazanas (manager).

The Under 8s Leopards team forged ahead on Gala Day, winning every game up to the finals and placed as runner up in the finals game. The Leopards have shown such great skill improvement, team spirit and team play throughout this season.

U10 Liverpool

We enjoyed a fantastic season of football where we learned more about ourselves, others and the game of football. We formed a new team and although our initial trial game showed that we had an opportunity to improve our fitness and skills.

The U13As have had a great season in 2016 and are still going as Sunday 18 September sees the team travelling to Goulburn to play in the first round of the 2016 FNSW Champion of Champions, a competition that last year saw the team reach the semi-finals.

The G14 Tigers have had a really strong season and have continued to develop their football skills under the coaching of Harrison and Lyall. The past two games against the two top ranked teams have been fabulous to watch and the skills displayed by all of the players has been a delight to watch.

Women's All Age

Looking forward to 2017.  2016 has been another successful season for our Women’s All Age players with the A team completing their 8th consecutive season in the very competitive Division 1 and our new B team who were Division 3 Runners Up in their first season.

Over 35s

Another excellent season on and off the field for the Men’s O35s – for the 17th consecutive season we played in the top tier and continued our reputation of being hard to beat.  The first team finished in 6th position with 6 wins one draw and 11 losses.

Over 45s

In 2016 the over 45s were able to form a squad of 2 teams, the reserve grade playing at 1 pm and the first grade at 3 pm, for the first time in club history.
